MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), founded in
1973, is a Christian organization that spans ten countries and fifty states.
MOPS is designed for mothers of children preschool age and under. Women in MOPS
come from different backgrounds and lifestyles, practice unique styles of
mothering, and have a variety of interests. Yet all moms have similar
needs and a shared desire to be the best mother they can be. Annual Theme for 2005-2006 Twinkle, Twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are … We all sing this song to our children and look up at the stars in the night sky and wonder. Wonder about our lives, wonder about God, wonder about the qualities that are important in our families. Twinkle: Shine Like Stars in the Universe is the theme for MOPS International during 2005-06. The theme is based on Philippians 2:15. In previous verses, Paul challenges us to imitate the humility of Christ by putting our faith in action. When we live as Jesus lived, we “shine like stars” and show the moms in our MOPS groups the hope that they can have in their own lives. Twinkle is a lifestyle evangelism theme. As leaders, we understand the need that moms have for Jesus and we want to share the light with them. At the same time, the Twinkle theme starts as a whimsical and attractive idea that is accessible to all moms, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey. Throughout the MOPS year, you can shine light through star-related topics that will ultimately draw moms toward the hope of Jesus. Click
